'I've finally found my place in this world!' - Emma's story
EMMA IS THE SISTER OF BENJAMIN, A HUNGARIAN JEWISH MAN WHO CAME TO FAITH IN JESUS THROUGH BOGI KOZMA’S MINISTRY LAST YEAR. SINCE THEN, EMMA HAS BEEN JOINING BOGI AND HER BROTHER FOR REGULAR BIBLE STUDIES. BOGI SHARES GOOD NEWS ABOUT EMMA BELOW.
It was such an encouragement when Benjamin, a Jewish poet and philosopher, began following Jesus on his 80th birthday. Read his story here. It has been so encouraging to see him growing in his faith as we have studied God’s Word.
It has also been a wonderful encouragement to have Emma, coming along to study the Scriptures. She is very inquisitive about the faith and is always full of many interesting questions about Jesus.
HER FIRST BIBLE
Recently, I was surprised when she quietly admitted to me that she didn’t have a Bible of her own but would love to have one. It was an honour to give Emma her first Bible.
After receiving it, she rushed straight home to read it. At the beginning of each Bible study, she would excitedly tell me about the passage she had been studying that week. It was such an encouragement to see her hunger for God’s Word grow.
During a recent session, we were discussing whether Jesus had simply died as a martyr or whether there was much more to his death. This gave me a good opportunity to share the gospel with Emma once again. As I did so, Emma was paying close attention to all I was saying.
Afterward, Emma told me that she wanted to know God more, so I explained how a relationship with God is possible through Jesus and how it deepens over time, like a marriage.
I WANT TO BELONG TO GOD!
As Emma listened to what I was saying, her face lit up: ‘Yes! This is what I want! I want to belong to God and learn more about him!’
I was so overjoyed as Emma went on to pray with me and Benjamin, seeking forgiveness for her sins and a new life in Jesus. Once she had finished praying, Emma was full of joy as she told me, ‘It’s wonderful… I’ve finally found my place in this world!’
Please pray that Emma will grow in grace as she begins to follow Jesus. Also, pray for Bogi as she disciples both Emma and Benjamin.
